The parable of the water coolers :

Looks Are Deceiving, But a Good Heart Goes a Long Way

The place where I work has two water coolers. One of them looks absolutely clean, well-maintained, and sleek. Naturally, I started using it. But no matter how good it looked, the water always tasted a bit off.

One day, a colleague asked, "Where are you getting your water from? Why don't you try the other cooler?"

I replied, "Dude, that one looks broken and old."

But he insisted, so I gave it a shot.

To my surprise, the water tasted perfect—refreshing and clean. It opened my eyes. I ignored something good because of how it looked all this time.

And isn't that how we often treat people, too?

We're drawn to what's shiny, polished, or conventionally attractive. But sometimes, the person who seems "broken" or overlooked may have precisely what we need—a pure heart, a deeper strength, or a kind soul. We must look beyond appearances and give things (and people) a chance.

Because perfection isn't always what it seems. And beauty, more often than not, lies beneath the surface.
